Buying in the Neighborhood - Edition Twenty (20)

Sometimes things like daily life just seem to take over the focus you should have on your purpose, mission and direction.  Because we are heading into the fourth quarter and actually now into the fourth quarter this is the perfect time to not only reflect on what you have completed and accomplished to date, but it is also the time to figure out that game plan for the rest of the year to hit your targets and goals and then to really start planning the next year and beyond.

It’s easy to say just write down a plan and stick to it, just like starting a diet or an exercise plan.  Everyone seems to always have good intentions behind doing the right thing and taking care of oneself.  One thing that I have noticed and definitely experienced myself is that health ranks in that top five of things you need to pay attention to and probably ranks truthfully in the top spot.  Why, because as an individual if you are not healthy you can’t really function properly, at your best, or even the most effectively.  If you haven’t caught that late summer cold or have already started with the autumn sniffles and coughs, then why don’t you consider trying to prevent that?

The definition of prevention is simply “the act of preventing or hindering”, which in the case of your health, you should actually focus on daily efforts of prevention of illness and maintenance of healthy living.  What prevents you from doing this normally?  Because time, effort, and money are the three sides of all ideas, activities, and plans, which one of this plays into how you treat your health and wellness?  For me personally, time is critical and something that I value highly and often abuse.  I look in the mirror and have to admit that I know that managing my time effectively or not definitely affects my health.   In addition to that, the next thing I consider is what I do to nourish myself daily so I can have the energy to sustain the schedule I run regularly which is often full of activities and travel which can surely stress one’s well-being.   I find that being well nourished can help to keep you going if you know what to feed yourself.

That brings me to the business for today’s blog….”Bowl of Heaven “ in Mesa, AZ.  They are known as a cafe and anti-aging  nutrition center.  I had the good fortune to meet Dave Knutson with my other friend Mick McGonigal whom are both partners/owners along with Lance and Alma Kerby of “Bowl of Heaven” http://www.bowlofheaven.com/.  They explained their vision of wanting to bring something to the community that was healthy so they could also become part of the community by helping others feel better.  The great thing about Dave and Mick is that you can see the passion in what they do and how much they really care for others.  This business was built from the heart literally and they are giving through the design of the location and what they are promoting there.

At the “Bowl of Heaven” you can receive a scan that tells you how healthy your immune system is and it gives you an awareness of the levels of toxins you may have in your system.  In addition to that, they have top of the line products that will help improve a person’s overall health.  This includes a weight-loss program – CR500, support for the weight loss through webinars, offering of weekly meetings, and personal goal and challenge development to help keep you motivated.  The anti-aging focus comes with the NuSkin product line and the education about caring for your skin.  They provide 10-15 minute facial demos with the all natural galvanic spa tools.

Now that I’ve told you about so many of the great things you can get from just visiting the “Bowl of Mesa”, I haven’t even got to the best part.  They have the most fabulously tasting healthy satisfying smoothies you can imagine.  They have a wide variety of fresh fruit flavors as well as your option of having it served as a smoothie or in a bowl.  Some of their classics are North Shore original, Desert Bloom, and Dan’s Peanut Butter.  They are comprised of many awesome flavors with the acai sorbet which is out of this world in taste and richness.  It’s amazing and is a no ice, no dairy, no added sugar based product which just exudes health to the highest degree for this sort of product.

I can’t say enough about what both Mick and Dave have put out there for the community to have access to but you can see for yourself actually this Friday and Saturday (Oct 21 - 22) as “Bowl of Heaven” in Mesa, AZ is hosting their Grand Opening.  You can follow them on Facebook-Bowl of Heaven Mesa and they are located at 454 N.
